I prefer the Elder Futhark runes and like Berkana, Berkano, it goes by a few names. I once got a Halloween costume kit years ago and it came with a “Tattoo Marker” (I dressed up as “white trash” that year at work, seems I’m usually one of the few festive people at the office.)
I routinely draw Runes on myself in some hidden place, like my sides, always 3 and this is a common one (Along with the Joy rune and Protection) because since I’ve become a Mother I’ve found it to be extremely helpful.
“Essentially, Berkana is a female rune. It indicates Goddess force, female fertility, and the relationship between a mother and her child, especially the relationship between a mother and her infant. Maternal influence/nurturing is key when Berkana shows in a reading. In readings concerning business or some other non-mother/child situation, it still carries the connotation of nurturing, such as the nurturing one would give a business project in its early stages. “
I like to be reminded when I draw them on me and think to invoke each of the properties each rune possesses, it helps ground and center me for the week, day or whatever need I may have.
I haven’t used runes as much as physically and this makes me think and inspires me to think to draw them other places as well, such as on the phone when with a difficult work situation (as is happening lately these days) instead of just doodling boxes on my notepad during a conference call I think I will try to do this tomorrow!

I have always associated Berkana with Frigga, the All-Mother, since birch is Her tree.
I read that a lot as well that she is commonly referred to with Frigga, awesome!
I’ve never thought of using runes like that. Thank you a lot for sharing & inspiring me!
Ooh, glad to hear it! I thought maybe it was a bit weird but it always seems to help me focus
